Crispy on the outside, sweet and soft on the inside, these sweet, paleo baked apple fries are perfect for dipping in my sweet pumpkin pie dip. Makes around 16 slices.
Preheat the oven broiler to a high heat broiler setting. You want a very high setting to get the outside of the apple fries crispy without the apples getting too soft for dipping.
Wash and cut the apples into wedges, removing the cores. (You should be able to get around 8 wedges per apple.)
Mix together the tapioca flour, almond flour, coconut sugar, spices, and salt in a small bowl.
Dip the apple wedges into the coconut oil (or melted ghee), and then immediately dip them into the mixture of dry ingredients to coat the apples.
Place coated apple wedges on a grill over a baking sheet in a single layer with space between them.
Once you have finished coating and placing all of your apple wedges on the grill, place the baking sheet/grill in your oven near the broiler and broil on high heat until the coating brows and gets slightly crispy.
Flip the wedges over and grill until the other side is also finished.
Serve immediately. They are great with the pumpkin spice dip.

Nutritional information per serving assumes that all of the ghee and coating ingredients are fully used up, which probably won't happen. (In reality the calories, fat, etc., will probably be lower than what is shown.)
