Ditch the unhealthy sodas, and switch to a much healthier paleo red pop, or red soda, which can be made two ways using a combination of herbs, fruits, and soda water.
Add all of the dried ingredients to a coffe grinder, spice grinder, or high potency blender. If you are using rosehips that have been dried with the seeds in them, it's preferable to remove the seeds before adding the skin. (I crush them and pull the seeds out). If you have sensitive skin, use gloves because the hairs within the rosehips can be irritating to skin.
Pulse the ingredients, grinding them into a fine powder.
Add just over 1 tsp. of the mixture to each empty teabag, making around 10 teabags for 10 servings. If you prefer, you can add just over a tsp. to a tea strainer and use that for each glass of sparkling water.
When it's time to make the red pop, add some frozen berries to the glass. They're great to use in the place of ice as they help cool your drink without watering it down. They also add some more color and flavor.
Add a teabag to the glass, and fill with sparkling water.
Press on the teabag occasionally to help infuse the herbs into the cold water. Remove the teabag when it has given off enough flavoring and color.
Serve immediately.
Notes
If you have problems with high blood pressure, be careful to not have too much tea with licorice root in it too often. You can use less, leave the licorice root out altogether, or just not drink this all day long. ;)
