For awhile now, I've been making my own beauty products. It started out with fun projects like making lip gloss with crayons and petroleum jelly. While I enjoyed making them, I started to question the safety of using those ingredients.
What I didn't realize until later, though, was that even a lot of the store bought products that I was buying weren't as safe as I had thought. I had no idea that cosmetics aren't very well regulated in the US, and that many companies use ingredients that have been banned in other countries. Some of these questionable ingredients have been linked to cancer or hormonal imbalances.
In a quest to avoid those toxic ingredients, I started to make more and more of my own personal care products. I spend a lot of hours reading and researching to try to make the best and safest recipes that I can, and I love sharing those recipes with you. That said, I know a lot of you don't love to DIY as much as I do.
Heck, even I get tired of having to make some of the products over and over again. Plus, sometimes I like to feel a little more pampered and less crunchy, if you know what I mean!
After hearing my friends rave about Beautycounter, I started to do a lot of research into the company. Beautycounter is a company that's working to "counter" the beauty industry by making safer, more natural products. Do you want to learn more?
We are in constant exposure to toxic chemicals which are likely part of the reason that serious health issues like cancer, infertility, and asthma are on the rise. Beautycounter is committed to creating healthier and safer products using a rigorous ingredient selection process.
While many companies have small lists of chemicals that they don't use, Beautycounter has a very extensive list. Not only do they not use any of the 1,400 chemicals banned in Europe, but they have also added other questionable ingredients to their "never list."
Before using any ingredient, they rigorously study it for potential health hazards.
Many of the chemicals often used in cosmetics haven't really been tested. Just because they haven't been found to be unsafe, doesn't make them safe. Beautycounter continues to review new studies to make sure they are using the safest ingredients without compromising the quality of their products.

I wear this tinted moisturizer on a day to day basis when I want to look polished but not overly made up. It has an SPF of 20, evens out skin tone, and includes vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to leave skin firmer, smoother, and with less aging spots.
Moisture as you sleep
This is what I wear at night.
It may be my favorite of all of the creams.
This is what I wear when I want to go out to dinner or somewhere special. It's a full coverage foundation that is creamy and smooth, making it easy to blend in while still covering all imperfections.
Vibrant eye perfector
I LOVE this eye cream!
Reduce puffiness and fine lines with algae and caffeine!
Click-pen brush applicator
I love this concealer because it covers fine lines and stays put all day. The best part is the innovative applicator that uses a click-pen to dispense only as much as you need using the brush tip.
Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
This is what I wear when I'm not wearing the Dew Skin tinted moisturizer.
Surprisignly, what I love most about it is its subtle, feminine scent. Normally I choose unscented products and can't tolerate fragrances, but this one is so subtle and natural that I absolutely love it!
